Holy Cross Runs

Looking for Trails?
Within two miles of HC, you can find some pretty fun trail running. There are two main sites that we have named:
1. "Ascension"
2. "Sandy Cane Mountain."
Closer by HC, there are the trails behind "Condos," or on the golf-course- side of Pakachoag Street. You can get to this trails by running behind the recreational center/Church across from Elmwood St (as mapped in "Ascension")...or via the bottom of Curtis St. (as mapped in "alt. route to Ascension"). There are some other smaller trails in that woods area, including the 1 mile loop mapped in "more trails in Ascension.
A whole other network of trails can be located in the Broad Meadow Brook Conversation Restriction. Whenever you look at the white windmill by HC, you're looking at what we've called the "SandyCane Mountain" trails. There are tons of paths in there, and you can get to them in many different ways. Each trails within the conservation area has a name, so you can do some exploring on your own. These trails aren't exactly ideal to go on if you've got a big group, but they're definitely worth checking out. I've include two routes below, and I've also included a potential full run you could do while incorporating these trails. Enjoy!
Here is a map of the "Rail Trail" off of Exit 5 (190) if you'd like to check your mileage there or check out the surrounding area. As you can see, the rail trail is 2.8 miles from start to finish, one way:
